O'Reilly "Welcomes" Franken to the Senate

This is classic Bill O'Reilly...

The sad part is that O'Reilly is right. Franken is nothing more than proof that Democrats will just keep counting ballots and throwing out the ones they deem unworthy until they win an election.

Franken stole Minnesota and now Minnesotans need to live with it.

Robert Gibbs Gets Schooled by Chip Reid

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs had another bad day this week. Some mean old White House reporters took him to task (including Helen Thomas surprisingly) about how the questions at Obama's Healthcare Town Hall forum were staged.

Every time I think there is no honest journalism left, there comes the small glimmer of life. This sort of questioning needs to be encouraged.

Kudos to Chip Reid of CBS News.

Congress Travels at Our Expense

While it may come as no surprise, Congress has been doing some excessive traveling courtesy of the US taxpayer. The Wall Street Journal reports today that spending by lawmakers on taxpayer-funded trips has risen considerably in the past few years, and has even gone up 50 percent from last year alone.

According to the WSJ: "The spending on overseas travel is up almost tenfold since 1995, and has nearly tripled since 2001, according to the Journal analysis of 60,000 travel records. Hundreds of lawmakers traveled overseas in 2008 at a cost of about $13 million. That's a 50% jump since Democrats took control of Congress two years ago.

The cost of so-called congressional delegations, known among lawmakers as "codels," has risen nearly 70% since 2005, when an influence-peddling scandal led to a ban on travel funded by lobbyists, according to the data."

These bastards are going to exotic foreign nations on my dime. Meanwhile, this country has spent itself into multi-trillion dollar debt, passed a HUGE tax through the Cap and Trade Bill, and generally begun ruining America. Healthcare is the next big debacle we all need to be aware of and watch out for. All of these damn liberals think our healthcare is screwed up now, they just need to wait and watch what happens when the government gets involved. The government doesn't have a very good track record of getting these sorts of things right... just look at social security and medicare (the precursor to Obamacare socialized medicine).

Anyway, I digress... These congressmen and women have better things to do with their time than to go visit the Galapagos Islands. I'm so sick of this government...

Besides, I thought Congress cared about going green. How "green" is it to jetset all over the damn world?

What the HELL is this?!?

Can someone PLEASE tell me what the hell this thing is?!?

I think we're being invaded by the Blob or something!!! Can it come up from the sewer through my toilet?!?

Price of Oil Climbs

The price of oil is currently at $72 per barrel, after hitting just above $73 which is an 8-month high. Oil has been on a very steady rise ever since Obama took office.

Nothing is going to kill the Obama Administration faster than gas lines and high gas prices. President Carter can tell Obama all about it.

A Trend is Developing...

Maybe it's just me, but I'm starting to think that all of these cell phone interruptions are staged...

First, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs takes away a phone from a reporter after it goes off in a press briefing...

Now, Obama makes light of a cell phone going off during a speech about Gay and Lesbian rights...

I think the Obama team learned a new way to get a laugh and break the tension. We'll see if this trend continues...

Obama Ratings Continue to Slide

President Obama's Approval Index number reached a new low today, now sitting at -2.

His approval has dropped 32 points since taking office. Although with a 9.4% unemployment rate and the quadrupling of the national deficit in the first six months of his term, he had nowhere to go but down.

A Quick Thought on Bernie Madoff...

Famous Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff was just sentenced to 150 years in prison for stealing $65 billion from investors. Good... couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

What I want to know is how come it's wrong for Madoff to steal from so many, but it's ok for Obama and the Democrats in Congress to spend America into a multi-trillion dollar deficit and to steal from every hard working American through the Cap and Tax (Cap and Trade) Bill?

Hope and Change folks... Hope and Change.

Cap and Trade: Obama Style

This isn't new footage... but I wanted to post it anyway. If for nothing else than to show those few liberals who look at this blog what their Dear Leader has been selling them under the guise of a Global Warming bill...

Obama ADMITS Cap and Trade will cause our power bills to increase:

Obama-supporter and Economic Guru Warren Buffett also admits Cap and Trade is bad:

Hope and Change...

Props to House GOP leader John Boehner

For the first time since Obama took office, I feel as though a Republican stepped up and faced the Administration eye to eye, knuckle to knuckle.

House GOP leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) did more for his party last week during the debate over the Cap and Tax (Cap & Trade) bill than expected. Not only did he attempt to filibuster the bill, going page by page criticizing it as he went, but when asked why he spoke at length about the bill he said, "Hey, people deserve to know what's in this pile of shit."

Boehner used his privilege as leader to speak for an unlimited time on the House floor, spending an hour reading from the 1200-plus page bill that was amended 20 hours before the 219-212 House vote.

Here is a bit of video, courtesy of C-SPAN, of Boehner taking it to the Democrats...

In the end, eight Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the bill; 44 House Democrats voted against it.

Congrats to John Boehner for trying. Now keep up the pressure. Don't back down.

The eight RINOs who voted to increase all of our power bills are...
Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.)
Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.)
Rep. John McHugh (R-N.Y.)
Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R - N.J.)
Rep. Leonard Lance (R-N.J.)
Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)
Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Wash.)
Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.)

Without their horrible votes, Cap and Tax would have been defeated...

And as a side note, the one that really burns me is Mark Kirk from Illinois. I live in Illinois and can tell you he is preparing to run for either US Senate or Illinois Governor. Unless he changes his vote by the July 2nd deadline, he can count out any support or vote from me. I will tell everyone that he is directly responsible for our power bills skyrocketing.

Supreme Court Overturns Sotomayor Regarding Firefighters

From the Drudge Report: "Court Overturns Sotomayor; sides with White Firefighters. 5-4 on ideological lines."

From the AP: "The Supreme Court has ruled that white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge."

The Politico had this to say: "The ruling will be portrayed as a snub to Sotomayor, but the fact that four judges agreed with her position suggests that her assessment of the case was hardly outside the mainstream."

I would disagree with the Politico's assessment on the vote of those four judges. I would argue that they are violating their oath as members of the Supreme Court, and are putting politics ahead of the law. It is fairly obvious they are attempting to give Sotomayor, and in turn Obama, some political cover on this issue. Politico lapped it up like a sick dog.

Additionally, all nine justices clearly state that Soto's handling of the case, not writing an opinion but rather just upholding the trial court was incompetent and lazy. What this all boils down to is that Sotomayor didn't pass the smell test. Obama has put up a stinker and everyone knows it now.

I'll have more on this as it comes. This is big folks. The Supreme Court basically just poked The Obama Administration's eye out. I will be SHOCKED to see Sotomayor get placed on the bench now.

RIP Billy Mays

TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead this morning. He was 50 years old.

Billy gave us some great television, promoting a wide variety of products. He was a funny guy who seemed to really enjoy what he was doing.

Billy started his career as a pitchman at the Home Shopping Network...

After achieving fame with such products as OxyClean and Mighty Putty, he began to have fun with his success.

Check out this video of him ordering food at a McDonalds.

Things weren't all great for billy though. Billy had a bit of a feud going with Vince, the guy who sells the Shamwows...

Billy did have a successful show on the Discovery channel called "PitchMen"

Billy has left us too soon. What products are we going to miss out on because of his passing?

A Break From the Seriousness

I'm swamped at work this week, as the Illinois General Assembly is attempting to get a budget together while facing a $9.2 billion deficit. Needless to say, it's fun times...

So, rather than get myself even more depressed by talking about all of the crap in the world that is bothering me, I'm going to post a video that I found. Cracked me up!

...So funny...

Threats From All Around...

The world is not a good place to be right now. Let's do a quick rundown of the various powder-kegs the United States currently finds itself standing on...

IRAN
Iran is in utter turmoil following the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Riots and protests fill the streets. Now the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is stepping up their presence and putting down the protests. Unconfirmed reports have the death toll topping 150. Many believe this is the kind of revolution Iran needs to finally get itself out from under totalitarian rule, but it will take the firm support of the United States to succeed. So far President Obama has not released any firm statements on Iran, choosing to not "meddle" in Iran's affairs. Hope and Change folks... Hope and Change.

NORTH KOREA
In recent weeks North Korea has ramped up their nuclear programs and missile testing, causing great alarm. The communist nation has even gone so far as to test various nuclear weapons. North Korea has said they will test a long-range missile, capable of hitting Hawaii, on July 4, prompting the US to send warships near Japan. Additionally, President Obama is considering sending Henry Kissinger to speak with China to have them intervene in this process.
One thing is for sure though: North Korea does not see Obama as a threat and are acting in a brazen and bold manner. North Korea must be put down and soon as they are one of the largest threats to the US at this time.

MIDDLE EAST
Let's not forget we're fighting a War on Terror, even if the lefties in the US don't want us to be. Al Qaeda has come out today announcing that they would quickly use Pakistani nuclear weapons against the United States if given the opportunity. This is highly disturbing as Al Qaeda has been driven primarily into Pakistan and is looking to make the nation it's stronghold following their removal from Afghanistan. This is one to be watched...
Read more about Al Qaeda and Pakistan by clicking HERE.

And let's not forget we have the potential for trouble, both physically and economically destructive, residing in Venezuela and China. Oh, and Israel is kinda going to hell in a handbasket too...

I thought Obama was supposed to bring us all together in peace and harmony. Not a lot of love for the United States right now. I guess this is all leading toward that big test of Obama's leadership that Joe Biden said would happen.
